We developed an immersive site – pun intended – where English and Spanish speaking children could explore the ocean by diving deeper and deeper into the water to find facts and information accompanied by animated videos all focused on keeping oceans clean. We also developed a game where kids were rewarded by picking up the trash underwater as well as a fun, interactive ecard maker where users can create their own ecards to send to their friends. The site and interactive elements were developed for the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Environmental Defense Fund and The Walt Disney Studios’ Buena Vista Worldwide Home Entertainment Division as part of the launch of a multimedia public service advertising (PSA) campaign designed to encourage all Americans to protect the oceans from the devastation of marine debris.
