Junior Social Media Producer – Los Angeles

HelpGood seeks a purpose-driven social media producer to help us create and market content that help our clients make the world more equitable. Full-time. Must be local to Los Angeles even though this is hybrid work from home/office role. Reports to HelpGood’s Sr. Content Producer. Primary Job Responsibilities

You will create, design, edit, produce in multiple formats and publish content across multiple channels.

Video Production

  • Produce and shoot short form video without much supervision, with an emphasis on content for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and other social media platforms.
  • Coach non-actors to get the best performance suitable for various platforms.
  • Assist with lighting, audio, & production for low budget news-style shoots, as needed.

Host Zoom Sessions and other Virtual Event Production

  • Schedule & host Zoom meetings, webinars and other virtual events.
  • Moderate speakers/guests & set up breakout rooms.
  • Live-stream events to social media.
  • Use PowerPoint to create and advance slides during presentations.
  • Record Zooms and manage storage of files in a file sharing platforms e.g. Google Drive / Box.
  • Troubleshoot tech and adapt to new platforms.
  • Experience with Open Broadcast Software a huge plus.

Video Editing/Clipping – Adobe Premiere

  • Identify strong social media excerpts from Zoom events and other footage.
  • Edit video clips and caption them for social media.
  • Mobile video editing within TikTok platform.
  • Re-edit trailers, ads, and other client videos to optimize in different aspect ratios for social media.
  • Add captions to videos (either burned in Premiere, or using Rev.com to generate SRTs).

Simple Graphic Design – Adobe Photoshop and/or Canva

  • Simple photo editing and graphic design for social media.
  • Create thumbnails and social media graphics.
  • Advanced illustration isn’t necessary.
  • Basic/Intermediate photo manipulation & editing.
  • Create pop culture memes as appropriate.
  • Ability to create short motion graphics in Adobe After Effects is a plus.
  • Use Canva to create automated slideshow videos or data visualizations.

Social Media Publishing

  • Create thumbnails and publish videos with appropriate titles, descriptions, and metadata.
  • Copywriting for social media posts.
  • Upload videos to YouTube, Vimeo, and other platforms.
  • Use Sprout Social for post scheduling and community management.
  • Familiarity with publishing tools are a plus.


  • At least 2 years of related experience.
  • Basic video and photo editing skills using Adobe Premiere and Photoshop are a must. Most edits will be fairly raw and simple, but more advanced edits on occasion.
  • Candidates will need the ability to handle all tech and setup for Zoom events and live streams without the need for close supervision.
  • Understanding of what performs well on social media, i.e. YouTube, TikTok/Reels, etc.
  • Writing, grammar, and spelling skills.
  • Additional language skills (especially Spanish), are a huge plus.
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Experience with digital collaboration tools like G Suite and Basecamp.
  • A friendly demeanor, excellent social skills, and the ability to interface with clients.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing social media landscape and roles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Desire to learn new skills and grow with the position.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong interest in social issues. 
  • You must be legally able to work in the United States.
  • You must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 and commit to adhering to national and local public health directives.

Salary Range

  • $50,000-$60,000 per year.
